VA Ambulatory Surgery Expansion

Faith successfully completed a 33,880sf $7.9M addition to the Albuquerque VA Hospital. The project included Existing Building Demolition and New Construction. Faith served as prime contracator to the Department of Veteran’s affairs, self performed electrical services and management of multiple subcontractors.

Due to the nature of the job site (Hospital) additional precautions were taken to minimize the impacts of noise, infection/dust control, material handling and general work flow. The new addition was built into an existing two story atrium and required special structural engineering to support two new levels over the intial first story, below the atrium.

Project scope included:

  • 1,600sf mechanical room with 8,000cfm and 14,000cfm AHU’s
  • 9,360sf Operating Suite that included:
  • 4 Operating Rooms
  • 14 Post-Anesthesia care units
  • 7,000sf of office space
  • Installation of 33,880′ of steel for 5′ tall support trusses
